Add Asian Flare to Traditional Summer Favorites

Here at Kahiki, we love our Asian cuisine but we can’t help but get wrapped up in the summer sun and the excitement of traditional American cookouts and picnics. Not wanting to abandon one for the other we thought, “why not combine the two.” So we did some research, combined our own products and came up with what I call an “Asian Infused American Summer Celebration.” Here are some dishes that are sure to give your traditional picnic the Asian flare it needs.

The Beverage: Green Iced Tea
After a hot day in the sun with family and friends, you’ll be looking for something to cool you down. This Green Iced Tea makes a refreshing addition to any summer meal. Replace your average summer drink with green tea and you won’t be disappointed. It’s not only tasty; it’s good for you too! Look for another post later this month on the health benefits of green tea. http://bit.ly/ml5IZD

The Appetizer: Kahiki Egg Rolls
Trade out that boring bowl of potato salad and pass around a plate of our delicious egg rolls. We love our egg rolls here at Kahiki and from many of your comments; we know that you do too. For this reason, we would be remiss to leave them off our summer picnic menu. They are quick to fix and make a great pre-dinner snack for a warm summer evening. For your convenience, we have chicken, pork or vegetable egg rolls. http://bit.ly/l1hto4

The Main Course: Polynesian Chicken Kabobs
There are no burgers or hotdogs on this menu! Our recipe for Polynesian Chicken Kabobs brings Asian influence to this summertime classic. Chicken, peppers and a tasty seasoning creates a perfect combination that will not disappoint your guests. http://bit.ly/jX40GA

On the Side: Chicken Fried Rice
When considering side dishes for our Asian picnic, we kept coming back to one thing- Chicken Fried Rice. A great accompaniment to your Polynesian Chicken Kabobs, this classic dish is ready to serve in minutes and will leave you and your guests fully satisfied. http://bit.ly/jtcL8w

For dessert: Asian Fruit Skewers
There’s just one more thing on the menu and that’s the dessert. These Asian Fruit Skewers are a refreshing way to wrap up our Asian inspired meal. With the Polynesian Chicken Kabobs as our main course, it seems only appropriate that these be our dessert of choice. Tropical, sweet and easy to prepare. What a great way to end a warm summer’s day. http://bit.ly/mqxUV4

We hope you enjoy our Kahiki Asian-inspired summer recipes. Have you used our Kahiki products in recipes of your own? We’d love for you to share them with us. Post your recipes in the comments section below.
