Making the Most of Your Lunch Hour

For many of you Kahiki fans, our single serving meals have become lunchtime favorites. Did you know that 20 percent of employees eat lunch at their desks. Are you part of this statistic? We want you to fully enjoy your Kahiki meal and in order to do so; you may just need to explore the world beyond the walls of your cubicle. We’ve come up with five tips to help you make the most of your lunch hour and increase your work performance and productivity throughout the rest of the day.

1. Pack your Lunch

Forget fast food lines and the lunchtime traffic. Heat up one of our Kahiki Single Serving meals and you’ll be ready to go. http://bit.ly/Hl5e Packing your lunch takes the stress out of fighting the lunchtime rush. No one needs the stress brought on by time spent waiting in those long lunchtime lines. There’s enough pressure that comes with your job. Don’t let your break add to that.

2. Eat away from your desk

Do you feel trapped inside your cubicle? Tied to your office computer? Why not make your lunch hour a respite from the piles of papers and countless emails? Get out and explore the office. Eat lunch in parts of the office that you don’t normally visit. If you work in a large workplace, you may even meet some people that you didn’t know before. If you do happen to make some new friends, don’t forget to share your Kahiki with them!

3. Get some fresh air

Missing the daylight that comes and goes during those long workdays? Pack up your favorite Kahiki dish and take it to a park bench or picnic table. After you’re finished eating, take the long way back. Use your lunchtime to get outside and take a walk. Especially in these warmer months, lunchtime is a great chance to spend time outdoors.

4. Make your lunch social

Have lunch with coworkers or meet friends for a bite to eat. Lunchtime can be a great time for catching up and forming relationships. Share ideas about projects you are working on and discuss current events. Try a local restaurant or bring your Kahiki to share with your friends.

5. Focus on your life outside of work

Your lunchtime should be a time to refocus and refuel for the hours ahead. Pick up a book or catch up on current events with a magazine or newspaper. Check news on your smartphone or iPad. Plan your evening or check your calendar.

These tips have helped us here at Kahiki headquarters and we encourage you to try them out as well. Next time you are facing workplace burnout, remember these tips, heat up one of our Kahiki products and enjoy!
