Meet the Kahiki Krew: John Henderson

Let me introduce you to...me! My name’s John and I’ve joined the Kahiki Krew as the PR/Marketing summer intern.

Name: John Henderson
Title: PR/Marketing Intern

I’ve been on the job for a little over a month now and I’ve definitely learned so much in just this short amount of time. What does it mean to be the PR/Marketing Intern? Well, in a world where social media dominates, this is one of my main responsibilities. I will be helping plan campaigns and develop strategies for an overall communications plan. I’ve had experience in social media management with organizations in other industries and it’s always interesting to see how this technology is uniquely integrated and utilized.

Currently, I am a senior at Otterbein University in Westerville, OH (a suburb of Columbus) majoring in public relations with a minor in sociology and speech communication. I’ve had a great college experience and have had the chance to work with some great organizations and meet amazing people. Kahiki is no exception.

When not hard at work, I love discovering all that Columbus has to offer. I’m a huge supporter of the great things happening in this city. We’ve got great parks, one of the best zoos in the nation and a fantastic food scene. Our arts district is tops and if you visit, you’ll definitely notice a strong sense of community. If you haven’t been to Columbus, I definitely recommend that you plan a visit. This city has so much going on and I think once you’ve been here, you’ll want to come back. I also love hiking, biking, traveling and going to amusement parks.

My favorite...

  • Kahiki product: General Tso’s Chicken
  • Vacation spot: The Florida Keys
  • Place I've Traveled: Cambodia
  • Color: Blue
  • Flavor of Ice Cream: Wildberry Lavender (from Jeni’s in Columbus, OH)
